Condition
The catatalogue illustration is representative. The canvas has a tight old relining which does not appear to have had a negative impact on the paint surface which is dirty but secure. The brushstrokes in the sky can be made out and the impasto is still in quite good condition. Some discoloured retouchings can be made out in the sky. Inspection under UV light reveals some further strengthenings in the darker tones in the foreground, for example in the boat lower right, and some retouchings in the buildings, but confirms the quite good overall condition.
Offered in a carved wooden frame in good condition.
