Condition
The painting is more yellow in tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest. The signed single panel is in flat stable condition. The paint surface appears to be in good overall condition, no apparent damage or loss of paint, except for one very minor speck of lifting craquelure in the corner lower left. There is also a slightly blanching varnish overall. Examination under Ultraviolet confirms the presence of the discoloured varnish and reveals very minor retouching concentrated at the panel edge lower left and lower right. Although the varnish impedes inspection, the principle parts of the painting appear to be in good untouched condition. Offered in an imitation red and black ebonised Dutch-style frame, in very good overall condition.
