Condition
The canvas has an old lining, which is stable. The paint surface is well- preserved overall, however the blue of the sky appears to have been substantially brushed over in a brighter hue. The original colour underneath is undoubtedly in keeping with the more sobre tones of the rest of the painting. The two horizontal whisps of cloud and the two small floating clouds in the lower sky also appear to have been overpainted. There is a small restored hole at the upper centre, approximately 1/1.5 cm. Otherwise the paintings remains largely untouched.
Sold in a later wood frame.
