Description

  • Apollo and Diana, after the antique
  • Black chalk, indented for transfer

Condition

There are a few brown stains, one more noticeable at the upper left corner and another towards the bottom half of the sheet. There is a red paint/gouache stain at the upper margin, towards the left hand side. There are a few tears in the sheet, one lower left corner, another at the lower right margin, where a piece of paper has been added to the verso for support. The lower right corner tip is missing and there is also a small tear nearby that has been supported by adding paper to the verso. The chalk is very fresh and vibrant and overall image still powerful.
