Condition
Oil on canvas with an old lining. The picture surface has a fine stable web of widely spaced craquelure which is noticeably raised. Surface dirt. There is an indent in the background to the right of the child approximately 1 inch long and another to the left of the child's face; these areas fluoresce under UV light. Under UV light, the varnish has been selectively cleaned and fluoresces green over the background. There is retouching to address the previously mentioned craquelure as well as scattered dots and dashes of retouching scattered throughout the figure.
