Condition
Oil on canvas with an old lining. Shiny varnish. Pigment separation in the area above the subjects hat; in her hair; in the dogs fur; and scattered in the background. These areas appear duller in natural light and the cracks have been retouched. Under UV light, there is a green fluorescing varnish, under which is slightly visible an older generation of inpainting to address craquelure across the picture surface. The aforementioned areas of separation fluoresce much more darkly.
