52 cards, each 123 x 62mm., woodcuts with letterpress text beneath, suit symbols hand-coloured, plain versos, 8 mounted in a frame, the rest in a folder attached to the back of the frame, many repaired tears or wormholes, some resulting in slight loss of text, a few cards shaved at head

Catalogue Note

An uncommon set of cards with instructions on how to read palms. The layout and design are very similar to a set of astronomical cards issued by Endter in Nuremberg in 1674 (All cards on the table 270, which also mentions a palmistry set by a Nuremberg maker dated c. 1659).
