folio (406 x 252mm.), engraved frontispiece, title printed in red and black, engraved portrait of the editor by Faithorne after Lilly, engraved headpieces and initials, 100 full-page engraved plates and illustrations by Faithorne, Hollar, Lombart and others, double-page engraved map by Hollar dated 1653, early eighteenth-century Neapolitan tan morocco elaborately gilt with the arms of Martius Pacecco Carafa Colonna on both covers, decoration composed of roll-tooled outer and inner borders with further border decoration and corner-pieces composed of smaller drawer-handle and floral tools, spine gilt in compartments, gilt edges, in later slipcase, some browning, F4 and N1 repaired at foot, plate opposite p.217 repaired without loss, extremities slightly rubbed, joints repaired and somewhat worn, head and foot of spine repaired
