Catalogue Note
The tools and overall design of the binding panels are very similar to bindings executed by Niccolò Franzese and Marcantonio Guillery in Rome, both of whom produced Apollo and Pegasus bindings for Grimaldi. For comparable bindings and tools, see Henry Davis Gift 305, Hobson Apollo and Pegasus 79 and 131, and De Marinis 656.
