Contemporary edition of the G-minor Piano Quartet, K.478, complete parts, 14 [piano], 5 [violin], 5 [viola], 4 [violoncello] pages, 4to ([piano:] 23.8 x 32cm; [other parts:] 30.5 x 23.6cm), engraved throughout, plate number 71, late eighteenth- or early-nineteenth-century wrappers, modern slipcase [cf: RISM M 6313], some loss to upper edge of violin I part, some scattered spotting, some slight damp-staining to piano and viola parts, traces of wax to title

Catalogue Note

The great G-minor Piano Quartet K.478 was first issued by Hoffmeister at the end of 1785. This only slightly later contemporary edition is not be confused with the 1794 re-issue with 'No. ['1': in manuscript]' added to the title.
