Catalogue Note

This is a fine association copy of one of the best-loved works in the concert repertory.

Otto von Königslow gave the first performance of the original version of Bruch's concerto on 24 April 1866.  The present version (revised by Joachim) was given at Bremen on 7 January 1868.  Königslow was the leader of the Gürzenich Orchestra in Cologne.
