Catalogue Note

Mann's set of tarot cards has been adapted to fit the revolutionary times: the crown has been removed from the queen on atout III, though the king on atout IV retains his. Mann had taken over the workshop of Blanck and Tschann in Colmar; a few of the cards have the monogram HB, and one has the legend "[--] M CARTIER ANNO 1752".
