Catalogue Note

An educational pack to teach the Greek myths, designed by Jean Desmarests along with a geographical card game, originally intended for the education and amusement of the young Louis XIV. The cards were first published in 1644 with engravings by Della Bella; this reprint from c. 1698 uses the same blocks but the title-card has had the imprint altered.
