Catalogue Note
A good copy of the first edition in its original form of this Salzburg masterwork (an edition for string quintet lacking two of the movements had been published by André in 1793). K.287 is unequalled among Mozart's divertimenti, and contains an unearthly, muted Adagio slow movement which prefigures that of the G-minor String Quintet, K.516.
