  • A good collection of eighteenth century scribal manuscripts of operatic and sacred works, by Cimarosa, Johann Michael Schmid and other unidentified composers, including:

Cimarosa.  The recitative and aria "Dunque per un infido la libertà perdei ... Fuggi che fo'" from L'italiana in Londra, and the aria "Superbo di me stesso" from L'Olympiade, written by two scribes in brown ink on one system per page, with a few later manuscript alterations to the vocal part of "Fuggi che fo'", 37 and 23 pages, oblong 4to; [c.1779-1784?]--Johann Michael Schmid. Mass in D ("Messa à Quatro Voci Concertata Con Due Violini, Due Oboi, Corni ex D, et A Clarinetti, Trombe, Tympani è Basso Generali"), notated on one system per page, a few manuscript alterations, possibly by the composer, 52 leaves, oblong 4to, 13-stave hand-drawn paper, manuscript label and later annotation to upper cover, contemporary wrappers, some gatherings loose--Mass in C minor, by an unidentified composer, scored for chorus, strings, 2 flutes, 2 oboes and 2 bassoons [and other instruments?], notated on a single system per page, 60 leaves, 4to, crozier watermarks, numbered "28" in red crayon, some entries to the music in red crayon, contemporary stencilled wrappers, severe damp-staining with loss at head throughout, edges frayed--A Mass in F major, and a 'Misericordias Domini' in F major, by an unidentified composer, containing a number of deletions and alterations, 14 leaves in all, oblong 4to, 14-stave paper, watermarked "M.J. Berens", ties, browning to outer leaves; together with a second edition of Gluck's opera Iphigénie en Tauride, Paris: Chez Des Lauriers, [Hopkinson 46 A (a)], folio, engraved throughout, contemporary half calf, covers worn and becoming detached
