Catalogue Note

Rare first edition, a crisp copy in a contemporary binding. Glogoviensis (1445-1507) published many works on astronomy, logic and grammar for the use of students. He taught at the University of Krakow, and on that basis is postulated as a possible teacher of Copernicus. This is the first work printed in Poland that mentions the discovery of America, on leaf g2v.

Jan Haller was the most prolific printer in Krakow at this time. He published Copernicus's first published work, a translation of Theophylact in 1509, and printed another edition of Glogoviensis's treatise in 1513.
