Catalogue Note

Fine illustrated edition of Tasso's celebrated epic poem.

The first illustrated edition, with engravings by Castello and commentary by Scipineo Gentili and Giulio Guastavini, had been published in Genoa in 1590; while the text and commentary of the 1617 edition remained the same, the Castello engravings were new.
