Catalogue Note
Editio princeps of the speeches of Isocrates, the great Athenian orator. This edition was the work of the Greek scholar Demetrius Chalcondylas, who was also responsible for the editiones principes of Homer (1488, lot 201) and Suidas (1499, lot 238). The Greek type is based on that of Bonus Accursius (active in Milan 1478-1481).
