la boîte supportée par la figure de Chronos, armé de sa faux, devant un obélisque gravé de hiéroglyphes, reposant sur une base en bronze doré sur un socle de marbre rouge griotte orné d'un bas-relief représentant Chronos conduit par l'Amour et supporté par des pieds en griffe ailés
Condition
The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. Good overall condition despite the inevitable scratches and marks throughout due to age and handling.
The gilding is slightly tarnished as expected. The patina of the bronze is slightly lighter on exposed areas. Some minor chips to an hole of the dial.

Catalogue Note
Ce modèle de pendule fut très populaire et il fut exécuté par différents bronziers de l'époque Empire. Ainsi, une pendule signée Ravrio sur le cadran était au Ministère de l'Intérieur à Paris (reproduite par Juliette Niclausse dans son article de la Gazette des Beaux Arts, janvier 1966, p.31). Une autre pendule également signée par Ravrio fut vendue chez Sotheby's Monaco, le 25 juin 1983, lot 186. Enfin, une troisième signée Ledure est conservée au Palais Royal de Varsovie (Iskierski, Les Bronzes du château royal et du palais de Lazienki à Varsovie, Gzcionkami drukarni Narodowey, 1929, fig. 22). Un modèle proche, par Ledure, est aussi reproduit dans H. Ottomeyer, P. Pröschel, Vergoldete Bronzen, Munich, 1986, vol. I, p. 351, fig. 5.7.7.
