Condition

NAPOLEON The sheet has discoloured. There is a tear along the upper right edge, approximately 2cm long, and two pin-size holes by the centre of each vertical edge. Some signs of foxing and staining. Held in a gilt gesso frame, early 19th Century; unexamined out of frame. AQUATINTS Some signs of foxing about the edges and a small loss to the centre of the upper edge of the portrait of Napoleon. Slightly discoloured. Held in gesso plaster frames under glass; unexamined out of frame. Aquatint measurements: one 42.5 by 28cm., the other 38.5 by 26cm.
