Condition
Original canvas. There is a craquelure pattern across the surface, visible in the catalogue illustration, and some abrasions about the edges.
UV light reveals retouchings about the edges and flecked retouchings through the background. Also a spot right of the girl's hand holding the book and another to the figure's left thigh. A further more consolidated area above her feet.
Held in a gilt composite frame.
