the first engraved: ‘Won by Highlander over Milfeild [sic] May 1766’ below a mounted jockey, 12.7cm., 5in. high, John Kirkup, Newcastle, 1759; the second engraved with the initials FWC, the underside later engraved with the initials CRS and the date December 1872, 13.3cm., 5¼in. high, maker’s mark double struck, apparently Shaw & Preist, London, 1770; the third plain, 12.7cm., 5in. high, maker’s mark of Hester Bateman overstruck by that of (?) Charles Chesterman, London, 1790

1. several dents to body, repair to joint to foot visible on the underside. splits on the footrim and lip.
2. surface scratches and wear to body. possible repair to foot.
3. worn initials to body and bright surface.
