Literature

Rhoda Koenig, ‘Top Dog’, The World of Interiors, December 1996, illustrated p.66.

Condition

The panel is sound. There are some light scratches across the surface, noticeable mainly along the upper edge including a few longer vertical ones approx. 5cm. long. A small old area of paint loss below the sow's tail and a couple of areas along left side of upper edge; these do not distract visually from the image overall. UV light reveals some retouching to the above mentioned scratches along the upper edge, an area by the left edge and another lower right of the sow; one or two smaller touches elsewhere about the edges. Held in a gilt plaster frame.
