Designed as a flowering vine with openwork leaves and small acorn accents, the flower petals set with calibré-cut sapphires, the front set with an oval-shaped sapphire weighing approximately 1.70 carats, the branches decorated with demantoid garnets, the flowerheads and leaves further accented with round diamonds weighing approximately 5.75 carats, gross weight approximately 71 dwts, internal circumference 15 inches, with French assay marks; circa 1950.

Condition

In good condition, with minimal evidence of wear. The oval sapphire is a medium dark, strongly saturated very slightly violetish blue, lightly included. The calibré-cut sapphires are a medium to medium light slightly violetish blue, eye-clean to lightly included. The garnets are a medium dark, richly saturated, slightly yellowish green, lightly included, with several exhibiting minor blemishing. The diamonds are approximately F-G color, VS-SI clarity. The back of the necklace has nice movement, and it lies nicely when worn.
