Designed as a birdhouse suspended from a gem-set branch, the bird house opens to reveal a rectangular dial with Arabic numeral indicators, mechanical movement, set with baguette, parallelogram, single and old European-cut diamonds weighing approximately 4.70 carats, the surmount designed as a branch with carved emerald leaves and enhanced with ruby and onyx bead berries, the bird house further decorated with an oval-shaped cabochon emerald and a pearl crown measuring approximately 4.6 mm, mechanical movement, dial signed U & B, caseback numbered YB 5787; circa 1930.

Condition

In good condition. The carved emerald leaves are semi-transparent, medium green and moderately included. The emerald cabochon is a richly saturated very slightly bluish green and also moderately included with a few surface reaching inclusions. The ruby beads are medium light purplish red and lightly included. The pearl is silvery white with moderate rose and green overtones, good luster and some minor peeling to the nacre. Two of the onyx beads bearing chips. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS clarity. The dial is in very good condition. The pin stem and the bottom of the gallery show evidence of small solder repairs. The watch is curently running. With a mechanical movement, possibly by Sadnac Watch Co.
