Description

  • platinum, diamond
The tapered diamond-set bandeau of geometric design, centered by a cushion-cut diamond weighing 5.85 carats, accented by 12 smaller cushion-cut diamonds weighing approximately 12.65 carats, further set with numerous old European, old mine and single-cut diamonds weighing approximately 37.50 carats, length 21½ inches; detaches into seven sections, two are 3 inches, two are 3½ inches, two are 3¼ inches and one is 2 inches; circa 1915.

Condition

In good condition. There are small gaps between certain sections. The additional cushion-cut diamonds are approximately H-J color, VS-SI clarity. The remaining diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity. Well made and highly flexible. Most of the sections detach easily, with one segment more challenging to open, and they are all fitted with safety closures. Fine millegrain work throughout, with additional detailing to the gallery. Please note that the bandeau is not shown as the actual size in the catalogue illustration. The full length is approximately 21 1/2 inches in length and approximately 1 1/8 inches at its greatest width. The length and construction of the piece would also allow for the piece to be worn along the waistband. Accompanied by GIA report no. 5151648956 stating that the 5.85 carat diamond is I color, SI1 clarity. Please note that the small missing diamond has been replaced.
