Of stylised tonneau design, the centre set with eight slightly baroque to baroque and drop-shaped natural pearls measuring from 7.35 x 8.45 x 6.65mm to 9.25 x 10.25 x 8.65mm, set to either side with a line of cushion-shaped and single-cut diamonds, French assay and maker's mark for Groëné et Darde.

Provenance

Jewels from the Collection of Odile de Richelieu, Countess Gabriel de La Rochefoucauld, Princess de La Rochefoucauld (1879-1974).

Condition

French assay mark for Groëné & Darde, who produced for Suzanne Belperron from 1932 to 1955. Stamped with French assay mark for 18 carat gold. According to the SSEF report, the eight saltwater natural pearls measuring from 7.35 - 8.45 x 6.65 mm to 9.25 - 10.25 x 8.65 mm, weighing from 11.77 grains to 24.41 grains (for a total of 144.08 grains), are white to slightly white in colour, the bases of four of the pearls have been reworked; for further information on the pearls, please refer to SSEF report. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 3.00 - 3.75 carats, of mixed colours and clarities. Signs of wear and scratches to metal consistent with age and use. In good condition. Gross weight approximately 41 grams.
