Composed of a graduated line of circular-cut diamonds, the three central stones weighing 6.92, 5.39 and 5.27 carats, length approximately 410mm, French assay and partial maker's mark, may be attached to a later tiara fitting.

Jewels from the Collection of Odile de Richelieu, Countess Gabriel de La Rochefoucauld, Princess de La Rochefoucauld (1879-1974).

Condition

Necklace: Partial and indistinct French maker's marks. Stamped with French assay marks for platinum and gold. Composed of 51 diamonds weighing from approximately 0.25 to 6.92 carats, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 62.00 carats, mixed in colour and clarity, generally J colour to yellow tint, VS-I clarity, some nicks, chips and abrasion, as gauged and graded in the mounting. In our experts' opinion the 6.92 carat diamond is of yellow tint, VS2-SI1 clarity, the 5.39 carat diamond is L-M colour, I clarity and the 5.27 carat diamond is M+ colour, VS2 clarity. Clasp secure, side safety latch. Tiara fittings later added and include: Tiara frame with maker's mark for Bucherer, stamped 750 for 18 carat gold, additional element to surmount tiara frame, and an adjustable elastic strap to secure tiara frame to head. All elements in very good condition. Total gross weight with fittings approximately 130 grams, without fittings approximately 66 grams.
