Comprising: two rectangular bags, one covered in black velvet, embroidered with raised floral motifs, highlighted with cabochon moonstones and rhodolites, the other decorated with raised star motifs, accented with cabochon aventurines and carnelians, and rhodolite beads, each measuring approximately 200 x 120 x 30mm; a square bag of black suede with a tortoise shell clasp, the monogram 'DC' accented with rose diamonds to the front, measuring approximately 180 x 195 x 40mm; a bag of trapezoid form embroidered in a honeycomb pattern with small white beads, the clasp set with rose-cut marcasites, signed Merlet, French assay and maker's marks, measuring approximately 240 x 160 x 35mm; and a bag of trapezoid form covered in cream silk set in a reeded pattern, signed Merlet, measuring approximately 240 x 160 x 50mm; each bag opens to reveal a main compartment and several side pockets, two bags unillustrated.

Moonstones and rhodolite garnets well matched in colour, in good condition. Aventurine, carnelian and rhodolite garnets bag: Gemstones well matched in colour, in good condition. Embroidery in good condition. Some staining to fabric. Cream coloured bag: With tag "Merlet, 3 Fbg St Honoré, Paris". Minor discolouration of the sides of the bag and the handles, signs of use around clasp, small stain on fabric close to clasp. White beaded bag: With French assay marks for silver. Maker's marks. Tags with "Made in France" and "Merlet 3, Faubg. St. Honoré - Paris". Beading in good condition. Some discolouration to fabric and metal. Black suede bag: This bag contains material from an endangered species, please see disclaimer above. Tortoiseshell with few scratches in good condition. Few signs of wear to the suede. Diamonds of decorative quality. All bags in good condition.
