Description
- plat, diamond, sapphire
Centring on two undulating branches set with circular-cut diamonds, and carved sapphire leaves, completed by a necklace composed of circular-cut diamonds, interspersed by cabochon sapphires, the sapphires and diamonds together weighing approximately 18.55 and 6.40 carats respectively, mounted in platinum, length approximately 380mm, signed.
Condition
Colour and Clarity: According to Cartier Certificate of Authenticity, this sapphire and diamond necklace was made in 1930 by Cartier New York. In our opinion, the sapphires are medium, intense blue colour, eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are general surface abrasions on these sapphires, particularly to the carved sapphires in the front, but not seen to the naked eyes and very common in vintage gem-set jewellery. Diamonds are about G to I colours, VS clarity. Signed Cartier to the clasp.
Condition: Vintage platinum mount, signs of wear and minor scratches to the metal, otherwise in good condition.
