Description

  • enamel, ruby, sapphire, gold, diamond
Modelled as a whimsical snake, the flexible body applied throughout with blue, gold and yellow enamel, highlighted by a cabochon sapphire and circular-cut diamonds on the head, accented by eyes set with marquise-shaped rubies, mounted in 18 karat yellow gold, inner diameter approximately 40 to 44mm, signed.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the cabochon sapphire set on top of the head is light blue colour, two marquise rubies are strong purplish red colour, all are eye clean. Upon 10x loupe, there are some surface abrasions to the gemstones, particularly to one ruby, but not seen to naked eyes. Tiny single-cut diamonds are lightly tinted colour, VS2 to SI clarity. Signed to the interior. Condition: Commensurate with its age, some of the blue and yellow enamel paint is chipped, enamel on the tongue is also slightly chipped, but generally not noticeable to naked eyes. Most of the damage can only be observed upon loupe check or very close and careful look. Signs of wear and minor surface scratches to the metal, overall in good condition. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please note that jadeite and rubies of Burmese origin and articles of jewellery containing jadeite or rubies of Burmese origin all less than 100 years old may not be imported into the US. The purchaser's inability to import any item into the U.S. or any other country as a result of these or other restrictions shall not justify cancellation or rescission of the sale or any delay in payment. Please check with the specialist department if you are uncertain as to whether a lot is subject to these import restrictions, or any other restrictions on importation or exportation.
