Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. The canvas is unlined and well-stretched; the paint layer is stable. Under ultraviolet inspection, a two-inch horizontal line of in-painting is present in the center right quadrant, approximately five-inches from the center of the right edge. A circular area of in-painting, measuring half-an-inch in diameter is present in the direct center of the canvas. Three minor spots of in-painting are also present in the upper right quadrant near the extreme upper edge.

“Comencé pintando telas con la pintura al óleo tradicional. Las dos primeras pudieran hacer pensar en las cafeteras, pero su raíz inmediata estaba en los coloritmos. Los coloritmos deshaciéndose, diluyéndose. De allí en adelante no hubo ya nada. La superficie de los rectángulos era cubierta por una especie de escritura de manchas apenas visible, hasta llegar a una tela prácticamente blanca (aunque en el fondo, muy trabajada). Luego se fueron tornando casi ejercicios de texturas, o aproximaciones a la materia plástica, y nada más.”
