Condition

This painting on panel is in very good condition. The panel is flat. The paint layer is stable. The panel has been cradled on the reverse; this cradle may even be original. It is hard to positively identify any retouches under ultraviolet light, but it does seem that there are a few tiny spots of retouching above the lips and to the left of the mouth that have slightly blanched over time. This is easily correctable. The corners and the edges all show some frame abrasion, particularly the lower left edge, but all of this is apparently hidden under the frame.
