Condition

The painting of the Virgen de Guadalupe appears to be in good condition. There are a few small paint losses and the varnish is slightly yellowed. This image would probably improve with a cleaning. Mueble Enconchado: Generally in good condition. There are small scattered losses to the mother or pearl and tortoiseshell throughout the piece. There have been a few replacements visible to the eye. On the right side of the piece there are two circular marks and a crack in the middle of the panel with the corresponding losses of mother or pearl and tortoiseshell. A piece of the ebonised wood molding is missing on the top of the right hand column as seen in the catalogue illustration. Two keyhole surrounds (lower right and middle drawers) are missing.
