Condition

The panel is in very good condition considering its age. The paint on the two pinstriped panels is tightly bound and displays no losses. Minor abrasions to the painted panels can be seen as a result of the wires brushing up against them. These areas have been toned down so they are less visible. The white and black pinstripes, which vary in color density, are crisp and legible. All of the painted suspended wires are present and are well secured to the white shadow box that encases the two panels. The shadow box displays minor soiling and faint scuffs on the bottom edge. Small hairline fissures in the paint layer on the shadow box were observed which is a result of dimensional changes in the wood. Several tiny losses in white were noted on the painted wires. The panel is structurally sound. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Wilson Conservation.)
