Condition

The stone sculpture is in very good condition. The sculpture is clean and displays a smooth polished finish with a tiny area of minor pitting in the stone found at the tip on the side that has the artist’s signature inscribed in the stone. A discreet seam line can be seen in the stone indicating that it was made of two pieces. There is a faint vertical scratch parallel to one of the seams on one of the faces of the stone composition. No chips or damage to the sculpture was noted. Several tiny pits were seen along one of the seams. The sculpture sits on a black marble base that has a mechanism incorporated into it that allows the sculpture to spin. A ½ x ½” chip in the marble was observed on the top edge of the base. The sculpture is structurally sound. (This condition report has been provided courtesy of Wilson Conservation.)
