Silver-gilt, black lacquer, coral and diamond vanity case, 1920s

The rectangular black lacquer case applied with a rose diamond monogram MIO to a rectangular coral push piece, the silver-gilt interior with mirror, four compartments, lipstick, cigarette lighter and comb, measurements approximately 157mm x 117mm x 20mm, French assay and maker's marks, fitted case.

French assay marks for silver-gilt. Maker's marks of MR. Cigarette lighter with maker's mark BL. Some scratches and abrassions to black lacquer on base of case with small chips to corners, interior with some wear to silver-gilt and some slight spotting to the interior mirror, some small dents to base of cigarette lighter and lighter not in working order. Fiited case with some slight scuffing to red leather on corners and fraying to silk over hinge.
