Description

  • Fire opal, diamond, gold
Comprising: a pendant centring on an oval fire opal accented with trefoils of circular- and single-cut diamonds, to a later curb link chain; a pair of pendent earrings each suspending a facetted pear-shaped fire opal to a circular-cut fire opal surmount with baton connecting bar and circular-cut and rose diamond accents; a bracelet centring on an oval fire opal set between circular-cut diamond shoulders to an expandable bracelet, length approximately 160mm; and a ring set with a cushion-shaped fire opal within a surround of single-cut diamonds, size O, fitted case.

Condition

Stamped Italy 9KT for 9 carat gold to catch. Measurements of opals approximately: pendant 26 x 20.2 x 13 = 28.81 carats, earrings each 23.7 x 15.5 x 9.6 = 13.39 carats, bracelet 21.3 x 17.7 x 12.2 = 19.41 carats, ring 13.3 x 11.6 x 7.6 = 5.44 carats, opal in pendant with small nicks to facet edges, one opal drop in earrings with chip to top and small chips and nicks to girdle. Both earrings with small traces of old solder to settings. Opal in bracelet with small nicks and abrasions to facet edges. Diamonds bright and lively. Later chain to pendant . Signs of wear to mounts consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
