Condition
Oil on unlined canvas. The canvas is somewhat slack on the stretcher with some very minor pulling and bumping. The picture surface is in generally good condition with fresh impasto. There is minor surface dirt and a very fine, stable web of craquelure across the surface. There are 4 small associated losses in the flowers at lower right above the jug handle and at the base of the jug handle. There is also a small loss in the central red poppy at the top and in the center flowers 4 inches above the top of the vase. Under UV light, there is an area of inpainting in the background along the lower right edge that is approximately 1 1/2 inch in diameter. The bottom half of vase and the tabletop to the left of the vase fluoresce under UV, but this may be due to the artist's glazes.
