Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined. The extreme perimeter of the canvas has been taped. Under UV light: a masking layer of uneven varnish is difficult to read through, though brushstrokes of inpainting are visible throughout the outer regions of the composition including the background at top left and along the left edge as well as throughout the bottom center, around the figure at left's hands as well as in the left figure's hair and on her chest. Overall the painting has been significantly reworked but is otherwise fine.
