Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There are thin lines of stable cracking visible throughout the composition, including one spot of impact craquelure at the center of the dog and another starting at the elbow of the figure at left. Much of this craquelure is typical and inherent to the artist's technique. There is minor frame abrasion visible around the outer perimeter. Under UV light: a circular repair one-half inch in diameter is visible toward center right. Minor scattered spots of inpainting are also visible, most noticeably to the trunk of the tree at upper left. Overall the work is in good condition.
