Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a thick uneven varmish preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. UV examination does reveal some areas of fluorescence in places, but these do not appear to be retouchings and seem to be due to uneven varnish and fly spots. The surface is dirty and this work would benefit from a light clean. There is some stable paint shrinkage to some of the black pigments. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
