Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is an uneven varnish that causes some areas to fluoresce under UV light in a way that is not consistent with retouchings. There do no appear to be any signs of retouching under UV light. There is some stable paint shrinkage in places and the canvas is very slightly undulated in places. Otherwise this work is in overall very good condition with a lovely varied surface.
Colours: The reds are slightly brighter and the whites more varied in the original when compared to the printed catalogue illustration.
