Description
- Armand Guillaumin
- Paysage d'Ile de France

- oil on canvas
- 32.4 by 40.1cm., 12 7/8 by 15 7/8 in.
Provenance
Private Collection, France
Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a thick layer of varnish which prevents the UV light from fully penetrating, however UV examination does reveal some scattered spots of retouching mainly to the right of the composition. There are some areas of paint loss to the trunk of the left tree and to the foliage of both trees. There is a small dent coming from behind to the extreme upper left edge. There is a small vertical line of abrasion to the centre of the canvas. Overall this work is in good condition.
Colours: overall fairly accurate, though overall slightly less red in the original.
