Condition
Painted on craddled panel, the panel is sound. There is a very thick layer of varnish, preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. However UV examination reveals a few lines and areas of retouching towards the sky in the upper left corner, lower left and some scattered retouchings to the upper and lower part of the central trees. A few areas of retouching are also visible along the right edge and a tiny fleck of fluorescence on the letter 'R' of the signature. There is a slight paint loss, possibly due to the irregularity of the panel, to the extreme upper left corner. Otherwise this work is in fairly good condition.
Colours: overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue.
