Condition
The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals intermittent small spots of retouching along all four extreme edges and a spot to each of the bather's forearms, the left hand one corresponding to a previously repaired tear. The canvas is very gently undulating in places. There is a lovely rich impasto to the yellow of her hat. There are some extremely fine lines of craquelure to the thicker white pigments of her flesh and some surface dirt in places. This work might benefit from a light clean. Otherwise this work is in overall good condition.
Colours: fairly accurate in the printed catalogue though the colours are slightly fresher in the original.
