Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is an uneven layer of varnish through which the UV light cannot fully penetrate; there do not appear to be any signs of retouching. There are some extremely fine lines of craquelure to the white pigments at the left edge, this work wuold benefit from a clean. Otherwise, this work is in overall very good condition and there is a lovely surface texture to the painter's body.
Colours: Overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the background is slightly warmer in the original.
