Description
- Joan Miró
- Untitled (Essencies de la terra)
- signed Miró, dated 7/X/68 and dedicated a Manuel del Arco afectuosamente (lower right)
- pastel and coloured crayons on paper
- 49 by 37.5cm., 19 1/4 by 14 3/4 in.
Condition
Executed on a folded sheet of cream wove paper (the inside of which is printed 'Les Essencies de la Terra'), not laid down and hinged to the mount in three places along the upper edge. The sheet is slightly time-stained. There is a tiny nick to the centre of the extreme upper edge (not visible when framed) and a tiny 1cm-long repaired tear to the right part of the extreme upper edge. There is a tiny spot of white discolouration to the lower left corner of the upper right quadrant. Otherwise, this work is in overall very good condition.
Colours: overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though the sheet is slightly warmer and the reds and greens slightly brighter in the original.
