Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There is a faint stretcher mark parallel to the four edges and the vertical central cross-bar, and faint, fine lines of craquelure. Ultraviolet light reveals some minimal pinhead-sized scattered spots of retouching. This painting is in good condition. Held in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. The colours are less yellow than in the catalogue illustration, and somewhat brighter and deeper.
