Condition

Executed on cream laid paper, lined with another supporting sheet, which is hinged to the overmount intermittently along the upper edge. There are small losses to all four corners, probably relating to previous artist's pinholes. The paper is quite brittle resulting in some very fine cracks in places and associated tiny ink losses (most prominently to the central gable and the woman's shawl). This situation is now stabilised by the supporting lining. There is some extremely minor creasing in places due to the laying down process, a small repaired tear to the left part of the extreme lower edge and two further small repairs to the right part of the extreme upper edge. The sheet is slightly time-stained. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition. Colours: the blacks are darker, the paper less yellow and overall more contrasted in the original when compared to the printed catalogue.
